MCP in plain language

Model Context Protocol connects an assistant to tools in another service. MBXReach exposes audience lookups, campaign drafts and reports. Its public OAuth connection cannot send campaigns. Review and send in MBXReach.

Before you start

Have a MBXReach account, access to the right workspace and a plan with API access. The app must also be available for your ChatGPT or Claude account and permitted by your organization. The directory connection does not require pasting an API key or installing a local MCP server.

1. Connect in ChatGPT

Open the public app below. Select Install if shown, then Connect. Sign in to MBXReach, choose your workspace and review the permissions. Return to a ChatGPT conversation and select MBXReach using @ or the + menu where available.

2. Connect in Claude

Open MBXReach in Claude’s public directory. Review its capabilities, select Connect or Install and authorize the intended MBXReach workspace. Return to your chat and check that the connector is enabled. This is a Community connector; directory availability does not mean Anthropic verification.

3. Start with a read-only check

Confirm that the returned lists belong to the workspace you intended. An empty account can return no lists; do not ask the assistant to invent contacts.

Use MBXReach to show my audience lists and their IDs. Do not create or change anything. Explain any missing permission or connection.

4. Create your first draft

Choose a real list and replace the placeholders below. Review the subject suggestions, then ask to save your chosen version. The expected result is a draft you can identify in Campaigns, not just text in the chat.

Using MBXReach, prepare a welcome email for [brand] and [list name and ID]. Introduce [real benefit] and link to [URL]. Friendly tone, under 150 words. Suggest three subjects. Do not invent discounts, results or testimonials. Do not send.
Use the second subject and save the email as a draft in MBXReach. Give me the draft ID. Do not send or schedule it.

5. Review before sending

Open Campaigns and locate the draft by name or ID. Check the subject, content, links, language, audience, sender and preview. Meet the verified domain and Reply-To requirements before sending from MBXReach. Verify the actual saved draft, not only the assistant’s answer.

6. Learn from reports

After sending a campaign, ask for a summary. Separate observed metrics from recommendations. Opens do not perfectly measure people who read; consider clicks, bounces and unsubscribes too.

Read the MBXReach report for [campaign ID]. Summarize available metrics, explain what cannot be concluded and suggest two improvements. Do not change campaigns or contacts.

Troubleshooting

App missing? Check account availability and organization rules. Wrong lists? Check the authorized workspace. Permission error? Review API access and reconnect. Only getting chat text? Select the app, explicitly request a saved draft and verify its ID in the panel. Never share passwords or API keys in chat.

Quick questions

Do I need both assistants? No, choose one. Can I disconnect? Use MBXReach → AI assistants → Connected apps. Can this OAuth connection send? No, it works with drafts. Does it cover every workspace? Check the workspace you authorized.

Our recommendation

Start with one list, one objective and one draft. Give the assistant specific context and check the saved result in the panel. MCP saves steps while you retain editorial control.
